Belmont – Adjacent to the WPT in Belmont, is a very large parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Belmont/Post Dr. exit (95). Turn east, noting that Post Dr. turns into Jupiter Dr. Go a total of a little over one mile until you come to Belmont Center Dr. Turn left and go two blocks. Turn right and go a very short distance until you come to the Rogue River Park sign on your left. This park is part of the Kent County Parks Dept. If you plan to park your car overnight, please call the Parks office 616.632.7275 and the Kent County Sheriff Dept. NON-emergency number 616.632.6100, prompt 1, to ensure you do not receive a parking ticket. * A Port-a-Jon is open during warm months.
Rockford – Adjacent to the WPT in Rockford, is a large parking lot just north of the downtown businesses. All downtown parking lots allow free overnight parking. From the US 131 freeway, take the Rockford/10 Mile Rd. exit (97). Turn east and go a little over 2 miles, cross the Rogue River bridge, turning left at the traffic light at Main St. and go three and a half blocks – parking lot is on the left. In the city limits, 10 Mile Rd. is called Division St.
Cedar Springs – Adjacent to the WPT in Cedar Springs, is a large 24-hour free parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Cedar Springs/Muskegon (M 46) exit (104). Turn east and go about one mile until you come to a traffic light. Turn left on S. Main St. and go six blocks until you come to Cedar Springs Brewing on your left. Turn left and the parking lot is two blocks down the street. If you plan on leaving your vehicle for more than 24 hours, the City requests you contact them by phone or e-mail to let them know your basic plans, contact info. and which vehicle is yours so they can keep an eye on things for you. Their web site is https://cityofcedarsprings.org/contact. In the city limits, 17 Mile Rd. is called Muskegon Ave.
* A Restroom is open during warm weather months. Will have Municipal Utility Restrooms in 2025.
* Has a Repair Station.
* Has a Small Pavilion.
Village of Sand Lake – Adjacent to the WPT in the Village of Sand Lake is a free parking lot which allows 24-hour parking. From the US 131 freeway, take the Sand Lake exit (110). Turn east and go less than one mile. Just before the WPT crossing, the parking lot is on the right. The Village allows 24-hour parking, but if you are going to leave your vehicle parked for longer than 24 hours, they advise that you call during office hours and let them know how long you will be gone, otherwise vehicles are towed after 24 hours. Their office hours are: Mon. 8 to 6, Thurs. 8 to 5 and Fri. 9 to 4. 616.636.8854. Please leave a vm during non-office hours.

Village of Howard City – Adjacent to the WPT in the Village of Howard City is a good size free parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Howard City/Newaygo (M 82) exit (118). Turn east and go about two miles until you come to a traffic light, which is Ensley St. Turn left and go one block and turn left on Edgerton St. Go one-half block and the parking lot will be on your right. In Howard City, M 82 is called Shaw St. If you plan on leaving your vehicle for more than 24 hours at the trail parking lot, please call the Village office at 231.937.4311 or email the Village at villageofhowardcity@howardcity.org and provide them with your name, license plate number and contact information, as overnight parking is normally not allowed.
· A Pit Toilet is open during warm months.
· Has a Repair Station.
· Has a Fill Station in warm weather months.
Village of Morley – Adjacent to the WPT in the Village of Morley is a good size free parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Morley/Jefferson Rd. exit (125). Turn east and go about one and a half miles and just before you come to a “T” intersection in the Village, the parking lot is on your left. Village allows 24 hour parking, but would appreciate it if you are going to park overnight, that you call the Village office and provide them with a your name, contact information and how long you will be gone. The office number is 231.856.4582. Please leave a vm if the office is not open when you call.
· A Pit Toilet is open year-round.
Big Rapids – NOTE: This Big Rapids parking lot will be closed starting November 11th until February 28, 2025 for construction of the new Big Rapids Trailhead Depot Park.
Adjacent to the WPT in Big Rapids, is a free 24-hour parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Big Rapids/Mt. Pleasant (M 20) exit (139). Turn east and go less than two miles until you come to the entrance of Ferris State University. Be in one of the two “left turn only” lanes by the time you get to this intersection. Turn left onto S. State St. and go about three quarters of a mile until you come to Maple St./M 20 (Hungry Howie’s Pizza). Turn right and go about three quarters of a mile, going over the Muskegon River. Get into the left lane and go straight through the traffic light (do not turn). One block through the intersection, you will see the old train depot on your right, which is where the parking lot is located.
· A Port-a -Jon is open during warm weather months. Will have Municipal Utility Restrooms in 2025.
· Will have a Repair Station in 2025.
· Will have a Fill Station in 2025.
· Will have a large Pavilion in 2025.
Reed City – Adjacent to the WPT in Reed City, is a good size free 24-hour parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Reed City/Ludington (US 10) exit (153). Turn east and go about three quarters of a mile until you come to the four-way stop/blinking light. Turn right and go a quarter mile until you come to the Reed City Depot on your left. If you plan to leave your vehicle overnight (only between April 1st and October 31st), please call the City office at 231.832.2245 to provide your name, license plate number and contact information, as overnight parking is normally prohibited.
· Has Municipal Utility Restrooms.
· Has a Repair Station.
· Has a significant building overhang with Picnic Tables.
· Has a Playground.
· The east-west Pere Marquette State Trail crosses here.
Village of Leroy – Adjacent to the WPT in the Village of Leroy, is a good size free 24-hour parking lot.
From the US 131 freeway, take the Leroy/Luther 14 Mile Rd. exit (162). Turn east and go a short distance until you come to a T intersection, Mackinaw Trail. Turn left and go 2.5 miles, until you come to the Village of Leroy and Underwood Ave. (blinking yellow light). Turn left and go one-half block. The parking lot is to your left. Overnight parking is allowed. A Port-a-Jon is open in warm weather months.
· Has a Large Pavilion.
Village of Tustin – Adjacent to the WPT is a free 24 hour parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the
Tustin/20 Mile Rd. exit (168). Turn east and go less than one-half mile and just before you cross the WPT, turn right onto Howard and just beyond the Pine River Museum, is the parking lot. In the Village limits, 20 Mile Rd. is called Church St.
* A Port-a-Jon is open in warm weather months.
* Has a small, covered Picnic Shelter.
E. 44 Rd. Trailhead – Adjacent to the WPT at this trailhead is a free overnight parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take the Manistee/Clare M 115 exit (176). Turn west and go about two miles to S. 39 Rd. Turn right and go a short distance to E. 44 Rd. Turn right and go about three quarters of a mile and the Trailhead will be on the right.
* A Pit Toilet is open year-round.
* Has a small, covered Picnic Shelter.
Cadillac – Adjacent to the WPT Trailhead is a free parking lot. From the US 131 freeway, take Mitchell St. exit (177). At end of exit ramp turn left and go 2.2 miles until you come to W. Chapin St. in the downtown area and turn left. Go two blocks, where the parking lot is on the right. Free overnight parking at the Trailhead is allowed April 15 – November 15. Permitted overnight parking is available November 15 – April 15 across W. Chapin St.
· Municipal Utility Restrooms are across the street from the parking lot during warm months. A Port-A-Jon is available in the non-warm months.
· Has a Repair Station.
· Has a Fill Station.
· Has picnic tables.
· Has a Drinking Fountain.
· Will have a Covered Picnic Area in 2025.
